Borrowing Equipment

Between old equipment from upgraded labs and brand new purchases, the MESS equipment inventory is getting bigger by the day. We have all sorts of equipment that you can borrow and take home to work.

Just like when borrowing parts, your information will be recorded and you will sign an agreement that you will return the equipment undamaged by a specified date. You are then free to use the equipment as you like on your own time. If you fail to return the equipment, you will be required to pay a fine to cover the cost of replacing the equipment.

Recalls

Some equipment is in high demand. As a result you may be asked to return equipment so that others may use it as well. You will be contacted via email and given appropriate notice if this happens.

Damaged Equipment

Damaged equipment will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. You will be charged an amount up to the listed fine for the piece of equipment (when you borrowed it). The fine will be determined based on the extent of the damage and other factors.

Lost Equipment

The loss of an item will result in the full fine being levied against your account. Failure to pay any fines will prevent promotion to future academic terms or graduation.
